Is this Balenciaga, or from Paraguay?

For those, not so much contact with countries below the Equator you may not understand the irony on the title, but I will explain…

Paraguay is a South American country which has boarders with Brazil and Argentina. One of the boarders is a city called Ciudad del Leste which is separated from Foz de Iguaçu (Iguassu Falls) by a bridge.

Ciudad del Leste is very well known to sell cheap and fake items from China. A lot of people, especially Brazilians cross the bridge to purchase electronics and all sorts of goods, to sell throughout Brazil.

These people are called sacoleiros, as they carry their purchases in these cheap bags, in square format, made out of colorful plastic….

Then to the point… I enter this very high end shop in London and see….

… the newest trendy Balenciaga bag…

I got struck as I saw a full copy of the Paraguayan plastic bag of the sacoleiros…

But the cost, is a few good 1000s more…. and of course, it has Balenciaga written on it…

I read the articles about the controversy Ikea blue plastic bag and the newest blue Balenciaga bag… I remember to think that it could have been a coincidence…

But now, I am not so sure…

It can no longer be a coincidence… Photos for you to make up your mind…

Do you want to know more? in 2008 Louis Vuitton also released the same kind of bags… also, for you to see…

LV sacoleiro

So, what do you think, coincidence or not?
