Why do I hate Lufthansa – The worst airline of all.

Made in Germany… that is normally synonym of excellency.Well, not when it comes to their airline… no wonder the pilots are on strike all the time.

Maybe I am just unlucky but every time I fly it I regret.

You may remember my flight to Helsinki when everything possible went wrong… the flight was delayed, the staff was not present to disembark the passengers, the ground staff sent us to the gate of a flight that had already left, we missed the connection, then, they did not manage to put us in another connection until I cried over the counter and then they lost my luggage which made me miss my train.

Yes, all of it was over Christmas, less than 6 months ago and it could have ruined my whole holidays. Lucky it did not but not of Lufthansa’s merit.

Now, stubborn as I am I tried it again…

My husband is German and I feel for him… So, I booked my flight to Tbilisi this time…

MISTAKE… a HUGE one…

On the way to the airport I got a sms saying that the flight was cancelled.

Which was obvious to me that I would miss the connection in Munich.

I got on the phone and start calling them. The Q on the phone was infuriating, more than 20 minutes … I tried their call center in several countries until I managed in Poland…

To hear… WE CANNOT HELP YOU!

All flights were full and we cannot get you to your destination…. In the next 36 hours.

Well, I have a serious appointment, I argued…

I didn’t even get a I am sorry… all I heard was: flights are full…

I argued…begged… any airline…

Nothing…

Then a ping and I got rescheduled to an Air France flight, which would make me change plane 3 times to get me to my destination 7 hours later than scheduled.

I called Lufhansa and they said it was the best they could do…

It can get worse… I flew more than 12 hours rather than the 6 hours anticipated and arrived at my destination with no luggage…

Air France lost it… now, you will say… it is not Lufthansa’s fault… well, I am not so sure… I think it is… they booked me in a flight with such a tight schedule that I had to run in Paris to get my first connection… and obviously the bag did not make it…

In the end I was 36 hours without my luggage….

NOW, LISTEN YOU LUFTHANSA…

YOU WILL NEVER EVER SEE MY MONEY AGAIN… AND… I am writing here for the whole world to see…. No matter how much you pay in marketing, nothing is more damaging that the customer’s experience….

So my dear readers:
I suggest you think 10 times before you book with this airline.
The chances are that you will have your holidays and or business appointments ruined. This airline is not cheap… so, go for the ones that respect you as a customer and make sure they invest in solutions, rather than incurring in problems every time.
